Gastroenterology
Symbiotix has worked in the field of gastroenterology and chronic liver disease since 1998. From our earliest days, this therapeutic area has, perhaps, defined our scope of services more than any other. While our initial forays into collaboration with gastroenterologists began with strategies aimed at hepatitis C virus (HCV), we have broadened that focus to include other liver and digestive diseases. Each disease state is at a dynamic stage in its treatment paradigm, and Symbiotix is poised to serve as both an agent for dissemination of information, and a catalyst for change.
Our experiences have led to the development of key relationships with the field's thought leaders. In fact, no other company can boast the depth and breadth of thought leader relationships in gastroenterology that Symbiotix possesses. Our work has also put us at the forefront of research partnerships with key professional associations, including the American Liver Foundation (ALF), the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), Digestive Disease Week (DDW), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the Hepatitis Resource Network (HRN).
In terms of viral hepatitis, our clinical focus has not been limited solely to monoinfection-related, antiviral marketing and education services. We also have extensive experience with HCV/HIV coinfection, HBV/HIV coinfection, and side effect management (primarily hematological and neuropsychiatric complications) in HCV and HBV monoinfection and HCV or HBV/HIV coinfection as well. We believe no medical marketing and education company in the United States has more experience and knowledge of the coinfection marketplace than Symbiotix. Our work has also touched on hepatic safety and drug-induced liver injury in concert with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) as well as liver transplantation.
